Dani BIW - December 3-9

Crack that whip! No rest for scofflaws. It's time to redeem ourselves from our NaNo failings. Although your 10,000+ words were much better than mine. :) I even quit counting! So I'm in for 1,000 words a day. I mean, honestly, if I can't fit that in, I'm in a sorry state. And you must, too, Sister since you're already a pro and have published books. If a proven professional and a wannabe with a lot of time on her hands can't write four pages a day, who the hell can, I ask you? Maybe we should send our daily scribblings to each other as an accountability tool, what do you think? Even if it's dreadfully embarassing. I am so cringing at the idea of your reading my drivel, you cannot imagine.

Exercise (which we both seem to be good enough at) is the usual half hour a day of either walking or yoga. Blew it bigtime with the walking due to weather and even the yoga was sparse. Sigh.

Weekly Writing Goal - 20 pages:

Monday - 0
Tuesday - 2
Wednesday - 0
Thursday - 1
Friday - 3
Saturday - 9
Sunday - 3
Total - 18 pages
And this time I'm committing to actually reporting in daily. You, too? Will it help? We are SO bad at checking in!
Read the first 100 pages of a good book in the making though! :) BIK HOK TAM next week, too. What are your goals? Once again for me. Get. the. Blog. Book. Tour. Guide. finished. Jeez.

Let Us Pray

Oh, this is a GREAT photo and a great sentiment. I really need some holy intervention. Tomorrow, between preparing for Thanksgiving, I swear I'll write three pages (even though I'm feeling pretty desperate about the whole venture right now).

Here's how I really feel about this stinkin' venture and NaNo!
Ha! Then it's clear we're at the same place (psychologically speaking. Have you noticed that my NaNo lines haven't moved a bit in a week? This is really sad...
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!

Goals for the rest of NaNoWriMo

I can't get these stupid widgets to update on any site... arggh!

November12-30

Monday - zip pages/walk .7
Tuesday - 2 pages/.5
Wednesday - 2 pages/ zip
Thursday - 2 pages/zip
I have done hardly anything related to NaNO! Blog book tours and reading groups have taken up my time for the most part.... and four sick cats. Blech. I'm ready to give up. Don't give up! I've had a tough week too. Migraine, all day today. And that's a good day compared to the rest. Let's just do the best we can. ANYthing is better than nothing! I've done no writing this week; hope to write a bit tomorrow. Have gotten totally bunged up in the plot and am discouraged. But will keep trying! Please keep trying with me!

I will, I will.... but, as you say, it's discouraging. I'm still working on character descriptions and getting a sense of the location and houses. Much less plot. I haven't even thought of the ghosts yet! Oy. We better say a prayer or two at this point. To COS on Monday and then Thursday is Thanksgiving, which means Wednesday is shot getting ready for that. BLECH! Where did the whole month go???

Thursday -- a big fat Zer(0)
Friday -- 1.5 miles; 4.8 pages
Saturday -- 2.5 miles; 7 pages
Sunday -- Zer(0) miles; 8 pages
??Is she listening for her inner muse??

November goals - Week 1 of NaNoWriMo

Rough start for me today. I did get all my Ghost Town notes copied and have been moodling about the characters. It was definitely a NaNo kinda day. Also signed up for BIW which starts next week. Okay, so here it is:

Friday - 3 pages and 0 miles .... hellish sinus/migraine issues
Saturday - zip and only .5 miles
Sunday - 7 pages and 1.0 mile ... felt lots better today! Also got through half of the WWW monthly read

BIW:
Monday - 3 pages /1 mile

Nothing going ... yet

Did a lot of rushing around today. Tomorrow, I'm sitting 10 hours in a car, while we drive to UCSB to do a perspective student tour ... lots of time to write!

NaNo Starts TOMORROW!

Are you ready??? Am I??? Guess we'll find out! Be sure to sign in and say something about your goals on November 1!
Walked one mile today. At least that's something.

Three more days until NaNoWriMo

And I'm desperately trying to catch up and clean up and getting centered and focused. ARRRGH. I at least got the cushion to my sofa reupholstered and can only say Welting is really hard to do! Good grief.

So goals, what are they? I've been walking daily so again, one mile per day minimum through Thursday. Still working on the blog book tour guide. Goal for completion is Wednesday. Other than that, just clean up my sewing mess. I'll post goals for NaNo on Wednesday night. I have to think about how I'm going to work that.

I'd rather be doing this right now:

Forward we go ...

Walked .5 mile today.

Still dealing with sick kids around the home. ARGH!

Need to write 4 pages tomorrow (Sunday). Will report in. How about you, sister? Did you fix your couch successfully?

I'm bummed and blasted. Didn't walk or write today (unless you count this right now). Had an event in Larkspur and kidz fritzin' over homework... AUGH!
Don't know how I'm gonna do NaNo. But I will. I need to read instructions on how to post, etc. Pass over one of those couch cushions so I can smack myself in the head with it!

LOL. Better yet, I'll mail you the cushion I sat on with the big quilting pin still in it. Wow, I didn't know I could move that fast! OUCHIE!

The Goals!

Time to post new goals. No dilly-dallying around ladies! And update last week's goals, too. The whip is cracking. You have just over a week to develop some good habits in preparation for NaNoWriMo.

Love,

Prudence and Jane

One proud Nag Sister here!

CONGRATULATIONS! HIP HIP HOORAY!

THANK YOU!
a stunned Nag Sister

You look stunning. Joy is such a youthening thing. That isn't a word, is it? LOL.
It's word enough for me! I used "squelching" today to mean stepping into squishy mud...not the real meaning, but sounded good!

Ah, autumn! BIW goals for week ending 10/21

NaBloWriMo

So far so good in my daily blog posting commitment in the National Blog Writing Month contest I joined. I was desperate to get the Church Artist blog up and running for Michael. Go take a peek:

http://churchartist.blogspot.com/
Very nice indeed!
And read up at the
Queen of Socks about our spinning adventures and to keep tabs on Donna D.'s Blog Book Tour.
Love it! And I recognize some of the yarn! Spinning too? WHERE do you find the time?? No kids. Very little travel.
Are you back from the Klonkike? Yes... sorta. Any mining stories you can incorporate into Inez's life? Hmmm. They pan gold on the Bering Sea beach. That's pretty cool. Did you buy some qiviut?? Noooo... didn't even see any!

Wahoo - October 12 and so far a post at both blogs daily. Next I work on next week's posts leading up to Donna's blog book tour stop at Queen of Socks. The Church Artist blog has gotten 60 hits, too. I added sitemeters to the blogs.

Gearing up for NaNoWriMo

My blogs languish, and it's not without a bit of guilt that I admit it's a very baaaaaad thing for a writer to have a blog and then not keep it fresh. So I joined NaBloWriMo and committed to updating two of my blogs daily for the entire month of October. This will work out nicely with my Queen of Socks blog which hosts Donna Druchunas and her new knitting book on October 18. I'll have lots of "pillar articles" surrounding her tour stop which will drive more traffic to the blog. My second blog is for hubbo and his stained glass job. I've been wanting to document this one since the beginning of the year and never got around to doing anything, so now I've made a start. Take a peek here.

Walking at least a mile every day, and I got the new Lilias Folan book and DVD so plenty of yoga in my life, too. I think in my next career I'll become a yoga instructor. Lilias looks so good for someone over 70.

Oh, and I WILL get the blog book tour guide completed before the month is out, and perhaps even before all you WWW gals meet at the conference.

So how's it going with you? Inez keeping out of trouble? I'm just waiting for her to goof again and really end up pregnant!

Edith, Charmaine, Jane and Angelina...

...want to know why the Nag Sisters have not updated their goals or posted new ones for the week of September 16. And they have the nerve to criticize the Muses for not doing their jobs! They are probably both engaged in some slothful and hedonistic activities, rather than acting like the professional writers they pretend to be.

Okay, okay..... as soon as I finish this stuff..... yum, slurp........ mmmm. Charmaine, eat your heart out. This chocolate is unreal! And Edith, you'd love these nuts and berries.... drool. Now where's that cup of hot chocolate. Perfect on this cool Fall day. Maybe I'll give myself a little foot soak first, while I think about all those goals. What color should I use to write 'em down? That's important. And do I really want to write in that neat little notebook?? Let me ponder that with a few..... hmmm. Oh! Gingersnaps! A perfect chocolate foil! Mmmmmm. Maybe I'll call Ann and do a little brainstorming. Who the hell are Jane and Angelina??

Last sighted in a Whirlwind of her own making

Hey! How are you, Nag Sister?
Yesterday was the "First Page: How to Write a Killer Opening for your Novel" (or some such) workshop for which I was coordinator/registrar/organizer/chief bottle washer.... you get the idea. It went VERY well. Am just finishing "thank you" notes to presenters. Wednesday I go to Colorado (!yes! your state!) to check in on an aunt that's .... well, I just think I'd better check on her ... and Boulder family and then the Colorado Gold conference where I'm to present a session on researching for setting (ACK! URK! ask me... have I thought about this at all in the past couple of months????). No time to head to Leadville or get down to Colo Springs, alas! :-( It's a real whirlwind trip
ALLLLSOOOO: Got an email from the Press .... "where's the 100 pages you promised us?" ... (ACK! URK!) Somehow, I will write 30 pages like a fiend (it can be rough, thank goodness) and reach that 100 page mark end of next week, from hotel rooms, relative abodes, airports, etc. May panic accomplish what good intentions did not.
How are YOU???
Shall I send your goodie box yet??? Is it non-melting weather, or....???
