Dani's Monthly Goals for July 2008
- 30 pages of fiction 27 pages - I'll take it.
- Work on the Rural Newspapers Ever lens
- Slog through my endless writing for topics and articles to revise for the rural newspaper articles
- Pimp the Quickest Blog Book Tour Guide Ever Daily;) Twitter!
- Walk five miles per week minimum and try to beat Dana On it!
- Learn how to work Open Office
- Find three cozy mystery titles to review - 2 eBooks
Rest of the month, really work on learning graphics stuff in OO so I can think about the You Can Quote Me CafePress shop. Signed up for shop. It's a start. Right now, I'm just too stupid to do it. Also, get my photo albums organized in Vista. I don't even understand it enough to pretend. Also have to input hubbo's writing for the church window repair book as he's too slow and hogs the computer for too long trying to do it himself. Wish he had a secretary. :) Also must start thinking about Eric Maisel's Creativity Central blog posts as that will surely be happening soon. No sooner out of my mouth and it happened... some good posts showing up over there. Go see. The hold-up there has been a reprieve, but it won't last much longer. In fact, his website design is taking so long, I'm getting a little intimidated about being involved with the project.
Got a bad case of the Alsos today.

Dani's goals June 1-7
Tops on the list to write is the Blog Book Tour Guide which has been written, but needs desperate re-writing and shortening. Getting there. Ah hah! The mysterious elusive guide. I remember hearing tales of this...
The rest of the pages will be blog posts which desperately need writing. Just my personal journal where I've been spewing a LOT. Heck, I haven't even been writing in a journal! But I'll tell ya more about that in the post I'm gonna write when I'm done writing comments here!
I'd also like to find a few more members who would participate. If you know anyone who could use some nagging and who needs to write daily, let me know. I'll invite them to join. I'm sick of nagging but that may just be because I did a trial run of a beginning blogging class and can't get the students to do the assignments. So I'll probably kill that blog and forget about teaching a class this Fall for Story Circle Network. It just takes too much energy trying to cheerlead everyone into participating. I just really don't want that job. Not here, not there, not anywhere. I don't blame you. One person can't generate and then maintain all the enthusiasm and momentum for anything, be it a writing assignment or relationship. It's a quick path to empty tanks...

Dani's goals w/o May 4th
The remaining pages.... I don't know yet. Something important I really need to get off my desk. I have way too many unfinished projects right now.
My horoscope assures me that I'll get more directed after May 9th.
What's everybody else working on?

Dani's Goals April 1-6
One blog post a day for me, even if it's just my personal journal blog.
Gotta keep reading three books a week for future blog book tours. Who knew this would take so much time? Have a good interview about cyberschmoozing at Blog Book Tours right now. Go see.
And exercise.... I have zippo energy after more than two weeks with this wretched head cold. Still hacking away, but if it warms up, I'll try to walk some this week. We had snow yesterday during which time the power went out for several hours, and of course, I was online and I crashed big-time! So computer issues may continue... don't know.
Hey everybody, go look at your April horoscopes at Astrology Zone! Just to see how bad it's really going to be. Snort!

Dani Goals w/o March 16
- Update each of my blogs and post the link here so you can keep me honest
- Plan my next fifty rural newspaper articles
- Write three of those columns
I'm really needing to focus on the blogs to spiffy them up, so that's primary.

Goals week of March 2!
Grow Organic which documents our organic growing experiment this year
Queen of Socks in preparation for hosting a blog book tour stop
Blog Book Tours in an attempt to up the traffic over there for future tour stops
The Joy of Living Creatively, Eric Maisel's world blog in which I'm a guest blogger
I'm still working on the Blog Book Tours Guide which has now morphed into a FAQ format.
I have got to get a handle on this blog writing. I'm always behind. I can't even imagine trying to crank out an eLetter every week like some people do. But I'd like to, so this is good practice.
I have a big chore I need to focus on. Have to move all my writing files to another computer, so I'm sending them to webmail until I can download that mail onto the other computer.
And I'll report daily starting on Monday.
Exercise, who knows? Weather is due to go winter again. I sure feel it when I don't exercise. I am so sore I can hardly move in the morning. Just read a good book about exercise, health and the brain called Spark. I highly recommend it. Speaking of reading lists, mine is way too long and yours is way too short. :) I have half a dozen books to add, but I feel like a total list hog!
Also, gotta knit mice for the Kitty Knits blog book tour stop on March 14th!
What's everyone else planning?
Who won chocolate in February?? Who was closest to meeting goals?

Meaning Statement
I will achieve this in 2008 with three major projects:
- Syndicated weekly column for rural newspapers
- Childrens book series about organic farming
- A novel entitled, Ghost Town (synopsis to follow)
These projects will focus on environmental and sustainability issues, creativity, and fostering mutuality and understanding through communication and kindness.
I will also blog about these issues.
I will share with and support my writing colleagues in ways that further their writing goals. Two major focuses here are Blog Book Tours and Story Circle Network participation.
I will write daily! I will try to follow a goals list. Repeat after
me..... I need chocolate. Give me brownies.

Dani - Wednesday's goals
1. Maisel blogger proposal - almost done
2. Two blog posts - done
3. Plan Smart Alex articles to write this week - in process
4. Research notes on two books to review - continues
5. Clean kitchen floor!
6. To-do list for the rest of the week
7. Set up new blog for a friend - go see
8. Help with new Lifewriters listserv (co-mod) - ongoing and busy right now
9. Write intro for that
10. Set up blog for iconography commission
Gotta go look at carryover from last week. My memory is like a steel sieve. :)
Okay, everyone. Goals! Wild goals. Even if you can't reach them, don't forget to practice making them. Inertia and lethargy are creativity sucks. Not to mention depression. If Mary Higgins Clark can squeeze in two hours of writing before the kids wake up and she has to go to work, well... look where it got her. Dripping in jewels and a nice new hubby in twilight.

Dani February 10-16
1. A new "meaning statement" for my writing ... about half-way there and will post this week for your perusal.
2. Six more 500-word articles for my syndicated column to give to my editor. Have also tentatively found a name for the column. Smart Alex.
3. A 2008 Must-do list - Done after much moodling - might revise.
4. A 2008 Wanna-do list (both related to writing, of course) - Done after even more moodling.
5. Finish the stinkin' Blog Book Tour Guide... so I don't have to type that AGAIN!
6. Since someone asked what I write, I thought I'd examine my list and prioritize my annual goals with some crisp descriptions. Still working on this. Maybe we could have a book synopsis challenge? I'd like to know a bit more about yours, too.
7. Start a new blog for a church commission and a new blog post daily
Daily:
Monday - finish reading books and meaning statement. Blog post.
Tuesday - out of town so probably nada
Wednesday - work on Guide and BP
Thursday - Smart Alex columns and BP
Friday - character studies for Ghost Town and BP
Saturday - open and BP
Sunday - open and catch-up and BP
And check off and/or report results at least every other day. And if I lose, I knit you something or send chocolate. And if I win, you send me beach glass and/or chocolate. Is Elizabeth our winner last week? E. don't you dare dumb down for anyone! You are entirely too inspiring for me. What's your fave color? And fave food treat?
Oh, yeah and yoga daily. Walking only if the temp is over 40 degrees and I don't get lost in a mud bog. Will report back on that also. Total bomb last week.... but try, try again. Many I sure feel lousy when I don't move enough.

Dani's Goals December 16-22
- One post each day with the blog book tour tips for the new yahoo group.
- Sort more of my Book-in-a-Week writing for the syndicated column for rural newspapers.
- Finish my knitting for Christmas! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek.
- Trips out of town on Wednesday and Thursday so that cuts into my week.
Ann's in major stress mode due to the Silly Season. That's one nice thing about not having children.... no serious decorating expectations on the home front. Wish we could all have a cuppa tea and some fresh-baked cookies together. :) I even have one of those cheap sets of Christmas dishes with holly and everything. Call me Martha.
