Dana's Goals for August

Thanks to Dani, I am embroiled in the Blogbooktours Blog challenge (a post a day). D'oh!! So my first goal is to write a post per day, plus my weekly post for Fatal Foodies.

I also have to finish inputting a survey with my writing partner on WHAT WOMEN REALLY WANT IN BED (we want to have the survey up and running tomorrow, if possible)...

Write three outlines for Ravenous Romances for their consideration...

Start the novelization of CHAMPAGNE and get at least three chapters done.

I'd say that's enough!

Dana's Monthly Goals for July

Here I am, posting! My monthly goals are to finish minimum two chapters MFH, to do my once a week post on Fatal Foodies (I'm the Monday gal, btw), two-three posts a week on my personal blog(s), including a weekly book review, and try and master one new 'net based technological thingee/widget/link/website per month. This month it was the 'share this' widget. Yay, me!

For exercise, walk at least 10 miles a week, yoga twice a week and tae-bo twice a week. Time off for injuries as necessary.

Dana's Goals, April 21st-April 27th

I'm gonna have to jam this week 'cause I'm out of town Friday night through Sunday doing a Twilight Tour at the cathouse. Long drive Friday night and Sunday coming back home. Ugh. But I will get to see all the cats!

Anyway, what I have to get done before I go:

1. Post for Cozy Chicks on LLC and meeting Jess Lourey.
2. Post for Killer Hobbies on theater and baking and how they relate to MFH
3. Review August Moon for Mysterious Musings
4. Get my cyber tour schedule up on my website and my blog.
5. Get something posted on my own blog, fer crissake!
6. Start chapter one of BAD RAP and make minor revisions to prologue.
7. Exercise as per usual.

Hey, where are all the links to these blogs??

Dana's GOals, April 14th - 20th - How she did!

Okay, let's make this week a better one than last week! My only real accomplishment last week was finally finishing the third person prologue for BAD RAP (Lilith) and I have to say that was an uphill battle. Too much socializing last week! Not ONE blog post, which is really really bad. I know this, Dani... I know...

So. On to a new week!

1. Exercise as per usual. Modified yoga to accommodate what is most likely tendonitis. Ugh. - Walked several long lovely walks, did yoga at home two evenings, did the TRX exercises I could do and some assorted abs/waist exercises. I also ate very well: Fruit only before noon, tons of water, lots of fresh veggies and no proteins and starches in the same meal. I'm doing this for a couple of weeks with a friend of mine.
2. Answer interview questions for Jess's blog post on Murder Ink's blogsite for mystery authors. Da da Done!
3. Come up with interview questions for Jess.
Also done!
4. Ask Mr. Fabulous if he'll help me pimp the tour and have Jess's interview on Pointless Drivel. And another one bites the dust.
5. Three blog posts -Technically yes, even though two of them were not for my blog. They're for the cyber tour Jess and I are doing. I'm still behind on posting on my own blog.
6. Work on BAD RAP. A little bit, but not nearly as much as I'd like. This publicity and marketing stuff is a time sucker.

7. Help Dave finish his taxes (that's tonight, Monday). Done and done!

That's enough for one week. We have ONE social engagement Friday night and otherwise, it's straight home to work!

Dana's Goals, April 1st - 6th

And Happy April Fool's Day, all!

I have, perhaps foolishly, signed up for ScriptFrenzy 2008. So that's 100 pages in 30 days. I have written a script in less time, so it may or may not present a challenge. Considering the speed of my writing lately, I suspect it will be harder than I want it to be. But excellent practice!

I also have my WIP BAD RAP (or Lilith, as I also call it) to work on. And my blog to keep up on. I'm in the middle of Part III of my LCC 2008 post series.

So... here are my goals for the week:

1. 4 pages of script per day (Em...not so much. 2 pages per day, but I didn't get any writing done three days in a row because of social things at night and yesterday.
2. 1 page of BAD RAP per day (see above. I did work on it, but no page count to speak of)
3. 3 posts this week (yay for me, I did it! )

And I still have today (Sunday) to get some writing done.

Exercise is not optional - I will be walking, TRX'ing or yoga-ing every day unless ill. On days I don't walk to work, I'll be taking my ALpha with me on the Muni to facilitate the blog posts. I've been doing most of my blog writing that way for the last week and it's working well.

I did walk, i did yoga, but no TRX 'cause my elbow is well and truly screwed up. But lots of walking and one very good yoga class.

Stay tuned for my success rate! Hah!

Tip-toeing quietly back into the room...

Howdy, All!

Back from Left Coast Crime in Denver and slowly working my way out of depression caused by...well...just a really lousy couple of weeks, culminating with the loss of my baby boy, Haggis. He would want me to keep writing, though, so I'm going to post from very unambitious goals to start. I will start with:

Saturday, March 15th & Sunday, March 16th

1. Outline my adventures at Left Coast Crime and start a series of blog posts on the experience. Finished the outline.
2. Complete one blog post (did a blog post, but not on LCC. )
3. Work on LILITH (well, I wrote a sentence and thought about it...)
4. Walk on beach both days (Yup, sure did!)
5. Do yoga stretches both days and some TRX'ing. (NOpe, crapped out on this. My stomach hurt too much to stretch and I twanged my elbow and am not working it)

I think I can manage that...

Dana's Tuesday Goals

1. Pretend the post I put up on my blog this morning went up last night. (OH yeah, I'm good at the self-delusion!)

2. Yoga class Did this...excellent yoga class and I felt SO much more relaxed and optimistic!

3. Pull out tax receipts, make sure they're organized and total numbers in all categories. (well...i pulled 'em all out, they are organized, but I didn't total them. That will happen this weekend)

4. Nag Brian for his tax numbers. (Will get them this weekend)

5. Any creative writing a bonus. (No bonus)

Dana's Monday Goals

I think the daily format is less intimidating for me this week. I'm still in shock over Dave losing his job and a lot of my energy is going into figuring out our financial situation without retreating to a corner and rocking back and forth a lot. Most of my goals this week are exercise/tax oriented as stuff just has to get done. I needs the refund and the exercise will keep me sane! Well...stop me from reducing my sanity level even more. So...

1. Post my goals for Monday (HAHAHAHAH! Done!)
2. Get a walk in and do some TRX. (Walked from home to West Portal, so halfway there...AND did my TRX when I got home.)
3. Check both bank balances and see exactly what's there, what's coming in and what checks still have to clear. (Did that. I feel somewhat calmer now that I've stared impending doom in the face)
4. Write a short post for my other blogs. Lisa is in town tonight, but I think I might just be able to get something written while we're sipping wine and watching DEXTER. (didn't get it done, but did get it done this morning (Tuesday). And it's a longer post.)

Dana's Goals for Feb. 10th-17th

She sold thirteen books! Congratulations - sell, Mel, sell!
Okily dokily, I'm gonna list them in the daily format so I can actually keep track of what goals I keep and what goals I DON'T keep.. I've shrunk the font a bit 'cause it was just taking up WAY too much room...

Sunday, Feb. 10th -
1. Finish post for blog (Done!) and work on intro post for Zhana's blogbooktour stop (and done!)
2. put in time on LILITH (two hours, approximately 600-700 words. Not sure 'cause I'm working on a section I've been working on. I expect to have killed my prologue character tomorrow night)
3. Hour walk on the beach (Oh wait, already did that!)
4. Half hour of some other exercise/stretches (45 minutes of fencing with Dave)

Monday, 2/11
1. Either walk to West Portal Station in the a.m. or walk on the beach after work (walked to West Portal Station - 40 minutes uphill) And UPDATE: I also walked home from West Portal because the L train was nowhere in sight. 40 minutes DOWNhill...
2. Finish intro post for Zhana's blogbooktour stop, email her copy for approval (Did this, emailed it. Bwahahahahahah!!!! I'm a day ahead of schedule!)
3. Hour on LILITH (make that an hour and 20 minutes. 540 words, character not quite dead yet, but close!)

Tuesday, 2/12
1. Yoga class at lunch (Done. It was a toughie, though)
2. Darwin Day activities after work, so home late. Any writing at home a bonus. (no bonus for Dana last night. We got home at 8:50, had to take care of the kids, the mess and eat something...crashed and burned.)

Wednesday, 2/13
1. Either walk to West Portal Station in the a.m. or walk on the beach after work. (walked 40 minutes on the beach with Boska)
2. TRX (20 minutes worth of 20 reps per exercise. Ow.)
3. Hour on LILITH, post Zhana's interview for Thursday (Zhana's interview posted, stay tuned for the rest!)

Thursday, 2/14
1. Yoga at lunch (unless big meeting interferes with it) (Waaaah!!! No yoga because of the meeting. So I walked up and down California, a very long and steep hill near the office).
2. Valentine's Day - going out to dinner, home late with probable wine consumption.
3. Take Alpha on the Muni and at least make notes on LILITH or work on blog post (didn't remember the Alpha 'cause I was distracted by a big pile of cat barf on some clothes. I'm gonna try and write a small post later today. And the post didn't happen because I realized I didn't want to detract from Zhana's interview on the same day it was posted!)

Friday, 2/15
1. Either walk to West Portal Station in the a.m. or walk on the beach after work (managed to get out the door early enough to walk. Whoo hoo! Also went to yoga and then ended up walking 20 minutes to dave's work as I forgot my keys)
2. TRX (Ain't happening. Yoga instead!)
3. Hour on Lilith (depending on what time Lisa hits town) Not to play the 'my boyfriend lost his job and we're suddenly in deep shit' card, but that's what happened this afternoon around 5:00. So... no writing. I did, however, pack for tomorrow and put together my presentation materials for my SinSacto presentation tomorrow.

Saturday, 2/16
Sisters In Crime Sacramento - guest speaker. Sell lots of books!
Rest of the day is hang out with sister and cousins and boyfriend in Sacramento and spend
night there. All accomplished. Sold 13 books total)

SUnday, 2/17
Wine tasting, drive home. Work on Lilith depending on what time we get home. Wine was tasted, home was reached, no writing was done.

Dana's Goals for 2008

My first goal was to write this post tonight. So one goal met!
As far as 2008...
Minimum of three posts a week.
Minimum of 1 proactive email/contact/mailing a day to market my book
Minimum 3,000 words a week on my book.
No whining.

Okay...realistically, a LITTLE whining.

And to keep a journal/log of all of the above so I don't slack off.

Dani, tell those little pug-faced angels to back off!

Technically they're "putti".... nasty little stinkers. And they smoke now! P-U!
