Welcome New Nag Sisters

Please briefly introduce yourselves and tell us a tiny bit about your writing. Perhaps also your reason for wanting to have nag sisters to motivate you ... any special writing issues we can help you with? After you all are in and have made yourselves at home, I'll explain a little how we work... nothing dramatic or heavy-handed but just so we all know the few expectations. 'kay?

Dani writing goals January 7-12

It's Book in a Week for me so I've posted a goal of 30 pages. For exercise, 1/2 hour of yoga every day and, weather permitting, walk three miles total. And eat raw every other day. I told hubby it's a one-bowl week and we wash our own dishes after! Hopefully, Dana and I will be working on her blog book tour and posting lots of good info on the Blog Book Tour yahoo group, right?

On My Honor, I'll Do My Best....

Goals for next year? Well, I'll try to take this a little at a time and make it reasonable:
1) Write at least 7 pages a week (I did this once-upon-a-time... seems like I ought to be able to do it again)
2) Do yoga 2X per week; walk 3X per week (for 5 miles a week total)
3) Figure out a way to make a little part-time money (a small part-time job or freelance editing/writing or something)
4) Blog 2X per week.
Whew!

Awooo Awoooo!!!!!

That, in case you are wondering, is the triumphant sound of the blogger's hunting horn. I have successfully faced Dani's blogging challenge for the evening and did so before my second glass of Layer Cake Shiraz! AWWOOOOOO!!!!

For details, please go to www.danafredsti.com/blog

Okay, ladies, YOUR turn.

See what you've done, Dani? You've created a monster... :-)

Dani's Goals December 16-22

  1. One post each day with the blog book tour tips for the new yahoo group.
  2. Sort more of my Book-in-a-Week writing for the syndicated column for rural newspapers.
  3. Finish my knitting for Christmas! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek.
  4. Trips out of town on Wednesday and Thursday so that cuts into my week.

Ann's in major stress mode due to the Silly Season. That's one nice thing about not having children.... no serious decorating expectations on the home front. Wish we could all have a cuppa tea and some fresh-baked cookies together. :) I even have one of those cheap sets of Christmas dishes with holly and everything. Call me Martha.

Dana's Goals for 2008

My first goal was to write this post tonight. So one goal met!
As far as 2008...
Minimum of three posts a week.
Minimum of 1 proactive email/contact/mailing a day to market my book
Minimum 3,000 words a week on my book.
No whining.

Okay...realistically, a LITTLE whining.

And to keep a journal/log of all of the above so I don't slack off.

Dani, tell those little pug-faced angels to back off!

Technically they're "putti".... nasty little stinkers. And they smoke now! P-U!

Where are they?

You think they'll ever post any goals?

Doesn't look like it.

Now there's three of 'em and nobody's posting goals.

Well, it is Christmas. Maybe they're out having a good time like we are.

Yeah.

Wanna 'nother beer?

Introducing myself

Hi, Nag Sisters! Dani invited me to join you in nagging and being nagged to write. I needs it, I does... Anyway, I just wanted to drop by and introduce myself - my name's Dana and I'm a writer. And admitting it is the first step!

Dani BIW - December 3-9

Crack that whip! No rest for scofflaws. It's time to redeem ourselves from our NaNo failings. Although your 10,000+ words were much better than mine. :) I even quit counting! So I'm in for 1,000 words a day. I mean, honestly, if I can't fit that in, I'm in a sorry state. And you must, too, Sister since you're already a pro and have published books. If a proven professional and a wannabe with a lot of time on her hands can't write four pages a day, who the hell can, I ask you? Maybe we should send our daily scribblings to each other as an accountability tool, what do you think? Even if it's dreadfully embarassing. I am so cringing at the idea of your reading my drivel, you cannot imagine.

Exercise (which we both seem to be good enough at) is the usual half hour a day of either walking or yoga. Blew it bigtime with the walking due to weather and even the yoga was sparse. Sigh.

Weekly Writing Goal - 20 pages:

Monday - 0
Tuesday - 2
Wednesday - 0
Thursday - 1
Friday - 3
Saturday - 9
Sunday - 3
Total - 18 pages
And this time I'm committing to actually reporting in daily. You, too? Will it help? We are SO bad at checking in!
Read the first 100 pages of a good book in the making though! :) BIK HOK TAM next week, too. What are your goals? Once again for me. Get. the. Blog. Book. Tour. Guide. finished. Jeez.

Let Us Pray

Oh, this is a GREAT photo and a great sentiment. I really need some holy intervention. Tomorrow, between preparing for Thanksgiving, I swear I'll write three pages (even though I'm feeling pretty desperate about the whole venture right now).

Here's how I really feel about this stinkin' venture and NaNo!
Ha! Then it's clear we're at the same place (psychologically speaking. Have you noticed that my NaNo lines haven't moved a bit in a week? This is really sad...
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!

Goals for the rest of NaNoWriMo

I can't get these stupid widgets to update on any site... arggh!

November12-30

Monday - zip pages/walk .7
Tuesday - 2 pages/.5
Wednesday - 2 pages/ zip
Thursday - 2 pages/zip
I have done hardly anything related to NaNO! Blog book tours and reading groups have taken up my time for the most part.... and four sick cats. Blech. I'm ready to give up. Don't give up! I've had a tough week too. Migraine, all day today. And that's a good day compared to the rest. Let's just do the best we can. ANYthing is better than nothing! I've done no writing this week; hope to write a bit tomorrow. Have gotten totally bunged up in the plot and am discouraged. But will keep trying! Please keep trying with me!

I will, I will.... but, as you say, it's discouraging. I'm still working on character descriptions and getting a sense of the location and houses. Much less plot. I haven't even thought of the ghosts yet! Oy. We better say a prayer or two at this point. To COS on Monday and then Thursday is Thanksgiving, which means Wednesday is shot getting ready for that. BLECH! Where did the whole month go???

Saturday -- 2.5 miles; 7 pages
Sunday -- Zer(0) miles; 8 pages

Nothing going ... yet

Did a lot of rushing around today. Tomorrow, I'm sitting 10 hours in a car, while we drive to UCSB to do a perspective student tour ... lots of time to write!

NaNo Starts TOMORROW!

Are you ready??? Am I??? Guess we'll find out! Be sure to sign in and say something about your goals on November 1!
Walked one mile today. At least that's something.
