Edith, Charmaine, Jane and Angelina...

...want to know why the Nag Sisters have not updated their goals or posted new ones for the week of September 16. And they have the nerve to criticize the Muses for not doing their jobs! They are probably both engaged in some slothful and hedonistic activities, rather than acting like the professional writers they pretend to be.

Okay, okay..... as soon as I finish this stuff..... yum, slurp........ mmmm. Charmaine, eat your heart out. This chocolate is unreal! And Edith, you'd love these nuts and berries.... drool. Now where's that cup of hot chocolate. Perfect on this cool Fall day. Maybe I'll give myself a little foot soak first, while I think about all those goals. What color should I use to write 'em down? That's important. And do I really want to write in that neat little notebook?? Let me ponder that with a few..... hmmm. Oh! Gingersnaps! A perfect chocolate foil! Mmmmmm. Maybe I'll call Ann and do a little brainstorming. Who the hell are Jane and Angelina??

Last sighted in a Whirlwind of her own making

Hey! How are you, Nag Sister?
Yesterday was the "First Page: How to Write a Killer Opening for your Novel" (or some such) workshop for which I was coordinator/registrar/organizer/chief bottle washer.... you get the idea. It went VERY well. Am just finishing "thank you" notes to presenters. Wednesday I go to Colorado (!yes! your state!) to check in on an aunt that's .... well, I just think I'd better check on her ... and Boulder family and then the Colorado Gold conference where I'm to present a session on researching for setting (ACK! URK! ask me... have I thought about this at all in the past couple of months????). No time to head to Leadville or get down to Colo Springs, alas! :-( It's a real whirlwind trip
ALLLLSOOOO: Got an email from the Press .... "where's the 100 pages you promised us?" ... (ACK! URK!) Somehow, I will write 30 pages like a fiend (it can be rough, thank goodness) and reach that 100 page mark end of next week, from hotel rooms, relative abodes, airports, etc. May panic accomplish what good intentions did not.
How are YOU???
Shall I send your goodie box yet??? Is it non-melting weather, or....???

Dani's Writing Goals - BIW Sept 10-16

I signed up for a mere twenty pages this time. I haven't written or walked at all. Haven't felt very well, and yesterday I think I passed a kidney stone! Which might explain lots. Anyway, I'm feeling a little run-down, so will lay off the stress for a while. Not to mention foods. Have a cup of BIC HOK TAM cranberry juice with me!

How about you?? Are you back from New York? Did you write anything?? You're certainly piling on the miles! How is Inez doing?
Okay so... the goals:

Okay, I'll beat you by one page on your 20-page goal and by one mile in that time period. Neener neener. After I eat all that chocolate. And end up looking like our friend to the right. I notice you're walking very well already. What about writing? How is that going?

Beaming up up and away....

Hiya!
It's been a do-everything-but-nothing week ... we're packing frantically for our 24-hour family vacation to Monterey (yesterday i droive a carful of HS seniors to tour UC Santa Cruz... possible college venue?). Since hubby's doing the drive to Monterey, I'm taking my printout of chapters so far and reading in the car.
Looking forward to your VBT draft!

Weekly goads, er, goals August 20-26

NAG*NAG*NAG

I see no goals happening here..... has everyone beamed up to the Mother Ship??

Okay, since we're already late and into the week:

I will finish a rough draft of The Blog Book Tour Guide for Writers and send it to my Nag Sister by August 27 for a quick read-through. I'm thinking about 20 pages.

Exercise - too hot and skeetery for much walking so three yoga sessions. Mike and I are taking spinning classes so I'm a bit focused on that right now. We'll be out of town towards the end of the week.

I'm presuming you're involved with getting the youngsters back to school? Or you really did beam up to the Mother Ship? Where arrrrrrrre you??

Nag

HeY! I'm nagging here!

HA! Love the picture!
Sorry! I've had a crazy week... wrote up a press release about the Colorado Book Award and did a guess blog on coffee (!) that will appear this weekend, I think, on the "Killer Hobbies" blog.
I really really need to work on my DRAFT! AAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHHH!
I feel like this burro...

Dani Goals w/o August 13

I'm taking this week off! Will putter around with some old writing.... in particular the Blog Book Tour write-up. But, it's too stinkin' hot to walk or do anything that requires movement. So I'm going to read, sew, get ready to re-do my writing room, and try not to eat and drink too much of this sort of libation!

OH, and hopefully kick-start the WWW reading group although I have yet to receive my copy of Sherry Monahan's book. Are you going to play? I hope so.... since we are such a small group of WWW supporters.

Posted to WWW blog by mistake....

I wonder if anyone noticed.... LOL.

What a failure this week has been! All the way around. Not much writing, no editing, and it's been too stinkin' hot to walk. Blech. Dead cats. Dead Golf (car). And the most amusing thing in all of it.... my horoscope says my ruling planet, Jupiter, is finally moving forward and I am now in the best six months of my life so far! Oh, whoopie ding-dong! I can't even imagine how bad it might have been if Mercury had been retrograde.I did finally get my presciption for reading glasses into the optical shop and hope to have decent glasses next week. Maybe for a few months I'll be able to read before I have to get laser because the lousy new lenses are clouding up already. How can this be? I think the entire medical market is a scam. Wouldn't surprise me if I hadn't needed any cataract surgery at all.... just a decent eyeglass prescription! Stinkin' hundred degrees plus here. Only a slight heat headache though. I swear the progesterone cream is helping enormously with the meno-moments. Did I send you research links for that? I'm fairly convinced of the theory behind estrogen dominance. Now I only wish I cared enough to write about it!

NagNagNag

So how's it going, you two? Getting lots of writing done?

Ummmm... lots of walking? did you say walking??

Dani's Goals August 6-12

Gosh, sorry to be so out-of-touch. We were out of town most of the weekend, and then Monday, one of my little furry family members had a sudden health crisis and.... sadly.... died. It was dreadful for all of us, particularly because he was in a good deal of pain at the end. Death stinks. Didn't I just make that comment a few weeks ago??
Oh Dani ... I'm so sorry about your kitty. :-(

Anyway.... goals.

Writing - 30 pages hahahahaha
Monday - zip
Tuesday - 2 pages
Wednesday - 2 pages
Thursday - 1 page
Friday - zip
Saturday - zip
Sunday - zip

Walking - 7 miles plus some yoga
Monday - zip
Tuesday - zip
Wednesday - zip
Thursday - zip
Friday - 1 mile
Saturday - 1.2 miles
Sunday - 1.2 miles

My goal is to get the eBook for the blog book tour roughed out. Also, I must get Mike's St. Catharine blog at least started as the church is waiting for it. I have a good deal of that written, just need to match up photos which are also close to ready.

So I'm thinking of buying a MacBook. It would be my first Mac ever. I presume you recommend them?

I love Mac computers. I have a laptop (Powerbook G4) and there's just a couple of things about it I *don't* like:
1) the keyboard ... keys are closer together than on a regular keyboard. So, I bought a regular keyboard I can attach for heavy-duty writing.
2) screen ... a little small (even though it's bigger than a lot of laptops). I just live with this...

Time's a-wastin'

How are you doing? Here comes the weekend... are you going to take the weekend off? Almost time to post our BIW goals and other goals for next week!

TICKTICKTICKTICKTICK...... I guess I'll be writing a bit on Saturday while we're in Burlington! Not sure what yet, but I'll upload Alphie and see what's there to revise. And maybe take my notes for the VBT eBook. Since I have the blog and lens set up for the Blog Book Tours, I really need to get the free eBook on both.

One wonders....

.... if we're using our exercise as an escape from writing! We seem to be hugely successful at walking of late! And doing yard work.

Write. Keep writing. See inspiration below.

Hmmmm... You're right. We're walkin', all kinds of things, but writing...??
One thing I've discovered: Walking in the a.m., first thing, is GREAT!
Now, I have to find when those "open spots" for writing are. During the day, I think. Evenings don't seem to work when everyone's home....

Well, since neither of us has a day job, one would think the whole day is an "open spot".... right? I haven't gone to an office in decades, but you might have to go the library or something to get into the right mindset. I mean..... are we full-time writers or not?

Hmmmm... good question! I felt more like a full-time writer when I was "captured" 8 hours a day in a work setting. I feel like a ghost (?or a fake?) "working" at home. Maybe it's all those years in the (corporate) world!

Friday - zip
Saturday - zip
Sunday - zip
Total -

Revising/Editing/Consolidating files - 25 files and write first draft for VBT eBook
Monday - 39 pages of VBT notes read and reviewed for outline
Tuesday - 55 pages of VBT research reading Wow! Great progress!
Wednesday - zip
Thursday - zip
Friday - zip
Saturday - zip
Sunday - zip

We'll see what I can accomplish. I also really need to post a few things to Love of Place, so that may mean more than two pages a day of writing. Plus, I'm helping Mike solder windows and we'll be installing at the church one day this week. But, I plan to take Alphie to write there.

Now tell me what you think of the idea that we take the weekends off except during BIW weeks? Okay, well guess who will be trying to do some writing on Saturday. Sunday to Colorado Springs, so I doubt I get anything done except buy a pedometer! Not a particularly productive week, although I think I've done some good moodling for BIW.

Queen of Sevens this week..... next week, up the ante to eight?

I dare you. Just so you don't get into a rut. Now the real question

is: How much would either of us have accomplished this past

week without some nagging and accountability?

Here are some treats for you, too! Yummy!

Is it the thought that counts? Now post your goals!

;)

Write. Keep writing.

And how about this?? Donna D. posted it on WWW. Her husband sent it to her. Sounds like a good fight song!
